THE FULL MONTY
January 29 - March 27, 2010

Over the years, Way Off Broadway has produced many firsts for Frederick theater. Big name shows have taken their first bows - not just in Frederick, but western Maryland - right here at WOB.  Opening the 2010 Season is another area premiere.

Based on the popular 1997 film, six unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York are miserable.  They have no cash and no prospects.  Meanwhile, they catch their wives and other women going crazy over male strippers during their "Girls' Night Out."  The six men then set out to make some quick cash showing off their 'real man' bodies by becoming a team of male strippers.  As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, and anxieties they find strength as a group and overcome their inner demons.  In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship, and the ability to have fun.

The Full Monty
has been an instant audience favorite at every theatre where it has appeared.  Originally opening on Broadway in the fall of 2000, the production had a successful two year run at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, earning ten Tony nominations and the 2001 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding New Music.  For the new season, Frederick audiences will have a chance to see for themselves why the show is so fun.

WHO's WHO IN THE CAST & CREATIVE TEAM

JORDAN STOCKSDALE (Jerry Lukowski, Musical Director): has appeared on the WOB stage in Another Radio Christmas (Jordie Jordan), The Producers (Max), Cats (Rum Tum Tugger), The Wedding Singer (Robbie Hart), Evita (Che), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Jimmy Smith), Forever Plaid (Sparky), and Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik), as well as numerous Children's Theatre productions and the theatre's original murder mysteries. A graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory with a degree in Musical Theatre, he is the founding Artistic Director of Stocking Productions, where he has portrayed the roles of Gordon Schwinn in A New Brain and Frank N Furter in Rocky Horror. Last season's production of Cats marked Jordan's musical directing debut here at WOB, where he also serves as the Artistic Coordinator. He has performed in theatres throughout the Maryland/Virginia region with some favorite credits including Robber Bridegroom (Jamie Lockheart), Seussical (The Cat in the Hat), and the Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

JONNY KIGIN (Dave Bukatinski):
returns to the WOB stage after having last appeared as Jonny Fontaine in Another Radio Christmas. Other WOB appearances include Cats (Deuteronomy), Evita (Magaldi), A Christmas Time of Year (Jonny), The Sound of Music (Max), Lend Me a Tenor (Tito),  Forever Plaid (Francis), Oklahoma! (Curly), and Grease (Teen Angel).  When not strutting his stuff on stage at WOB, Jonny can be found in similar fashion across the street at Giant Eagle. He would like to thank his wife, Jana, and kids, Lily, Molly, Patrick, and Catelyn for their love and support.

GARY BERNARD DiNARDO (Ethan Girard): is glad to bare it all in his second WOB production! He was last seen here as Carmen Ghia in 2009's production of The Producers. After earning a BA in Theatre from the University of Pittsburgh, Gary took a several-year hiatus from theatre before delving back in, right here in Frederick. Some of his favorite appearances include Aida (Mereb), Children of Eden (Cain/Japeth), and Levitation (Ira Sherman). He would like to thank his family for their support, the Kiskas for their trust, and Jordan for his inspiration. "Applause is the closest I feel to what I know to be God."

SHAWN NAKIA (Malcolm MacGregor): is very recognizable to WOB audiences, having appeared in Mel Brooks' The Producers, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Ching Ho), A Chorus Line (Paul), The Case of the Oldest Living Showgirl (Bruce and Bryce Mundy - the flamboyant blonde twin killers), Oklahoma!, and The Wizard of Oz, as well as several Christmas and Children's Theatre productions. In addition to performing at WOB, he has appeared at theatres throughout the tri-state region, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

BILL KISKA (Harold Nichols, Executive Producer): earned a degree in Music and Theatre from Duquesne University while performing with the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, both in Pittsburgh and during its European Tour. Over the years, Bill has directed such productions as Oliver!, The King & I, Hello, Dolly!, . . . Forum, The Wizard of Oz, Forever Plaid, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Evita, and the regional premieres of Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl - The Musical and The Wedding Singer. No stranger to performing himself, he has appeared on stage a number of times in roles that have ranged from Harry the Horse in Guys & Dolls to Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music. His proudest moment on stage though, was appearing as Georges in the regional premiere of Jerry Herman's hit musical comedy La Cage aux Folles. Since becoming one of WOB's owners and the theatre's Executive Producer, he has been actively involved with every production since 2002 and has been thrilled to be able to bring so many great shows to Frederick over the years.

DARNELL MORRIS (Noah "Horse" T. Simmons): has appeared in The Condensed Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, and Babes in Toyland with The Washington Savoyards and A Chorus Line and Thoroughly Modern Millie here at WOB. Directing credits include productions of Wonka, Pippin (KAT 2nd Stage), The Wizard of Oz, Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Musical Theater Center), Children of Eden (Greenbelt Arts Center), and The Rocky Horror Show (Kensington Arts Theatre).  In 2009, he won the Ruby Griffith Award for his production of Pippin and in 2002, Darnell performed with Pop Star and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson in a 9/11 memorial service on the National Mall. He would like to thank his friends and family for all their love and support, especially Laurie, Nicole, Craig and Carlin. Special thanks to Susan and the Kiska family for having me back!

CLAUDIA J. PATTERSON (Jeanette Burmeister): is a newcomer to WOB, but certainly not the local area theater scene. Claudia has performed over 40 shows since moving to West Virginia in 1980 and was directed by Susan in one of her favorite shows, All Night Strut (OOH). Other favorite appearances include Nunsense I & II (Sister Hubert), 1776 (Abigail Adams), and The Full Monty (Jeanette). Though possessing a degree in Music Education from the University of Maryland, she makes her living as a tax accountant. Claudia would like to thank all at WOB for the opportunity and her family for their continued love and support.

RYAN PATRICK KANE (Nathan Lukowski): is a 12-year-old 7th grader at Monocacy Middle School and is happy to be performing at WOB again. Previously was seen in Evita and Sound of Music. Ryan enjoys singing, dancing, and acting. He would like to thank his acting teacher, Charlie Smith; his dance teachers, Amanda & Chrissa; and his voice teacher, Cathie Porter-Borden. Ryan loves being a part of WOB, where he is treated like part of the family. Thanks to all the Kiskas and Susan for this great opportunity.

NOAH W. OSTROWSKI (Nathan Lukowski):
first auditioned at the age of 14 days old, strapped to his mom's chest as she auditioned for Joseph, and spent a lot of evenings in various theaters eating dinner and doing homework while she was rehearsing or doing a show. Having fallen in love with music, he plays the violin, clarinet, all percussion instruments, and guitar. This summer, as pit singer for a Baltimore production of Crazy For You, Noah realized he was bitten by the bug, and wanted to go from audience member to performer. So he auditioned for one of the funniest shows he had ever seen, and here he is, on stage for his very first show with his Mom! When not at the theater, he can be found at the lacrosse field, or reading, and playing video games.

ANN DAVIS (Pam Lukowski): expects to get her best grades in grad school yet, with all her backstage time during this show to  do homework. Yet it is not all ease, she had to learn more lines than in her last three Mainstage shows combined, and morph into a "concerned mother" type after years of perfecting her "evil stepmother" (bring your little ones to see Cinderella!). When not onstage, running the WOB facebook page, writing a regular column for Hagerstown magazine, at her day job, or doing schoolwork, Ann can be found attempting to keep her favorite producer sane and free of grammatical errors.

TAYLOR WHIDDEN (Georgie Bukatinski): returns to the Mainstage after having created the role of Christie LeMont in Another Radio Christmas. She made her WOB debut last season, appearing in The Wedding Singer, Cats (Bombalurina), and The Producers (Ulla). A Musical Theatre graduate from Wilkes University, she has been involved in more than 50 theatrical productions with some of her favorite credits including Joseph . . . Dreamcoat (Narrator), Into the Woods (Baker's Wife), and Bat Boy (Meredith Parker). Taylor would like to thank the amazing gang at WOB for an amazing experience.

ANDREA WILDASON (Vicki Nichols): is excited to be making her WOB debut in one of her favorite shows! Having worked in theaters in the Baltimore/Annapolis area for the past 30 years, some favorite appearances include Joseph . . . Dreamcoat (Narrator), A Chorus Line (Maggie), Closer Than Ever, The Full Monty (Vicki), and most recently, Crazy for You (Irene). Her favorite role so far is that of "Mom" to her three biggest fans, one of whom she is thrilled to be onstage with for the very first time - her youngest son, Noah. "Love to Tod for being the melody to my harmony, and to our wonderful extended family for being there for the kids when I had to be at the theater! Relax, get ready to laugh, and enjoy the show!"

SHANNON WELLS (Estelle Genovese):
is no stranger to the WOB audiences. Some of her favorite appearances have been in The Sound of Music (Maria), Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), and Grease (Jan). Other credits include Oklahoma!, The Case of the Oldest Living Showgirl, 'Tis the Season, Murder by Marriage - A Wedding to Remember, A Christmas Time of Year, The Wedding Singer, and The Producers. She also performed in several of the Children's Theatre productions including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and A Furry Christmas Carol. "I want to thank WOB, my family and friends for their love and support, especially my husband, Erik."

TINA M. BRULEY (Joanie Lish): is so excited to return to the WOB's Mainstage after taking a year off, during which time, she managed to meet and marry the man of her dreams! You may remember having seen here at WOB in Thoroughly Modern Millie (Miss Flannery), Nunsense 2 (Sister Amnesia), La Cage aux Folles (Marie), or in a variety of storybook characters in the Children's Theatre. When not on stage, Tina is a theatre/chorus teacher at Crestwood Middle School.

JAMES HAYDEN RODRIGUEZ (Keno, Ensemble): is currently a junior Acting Major at Shenandoah Conservatory. He has appeared on the mainstage in The Grapes of Wrath, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and A Grand Night for Singing. He was most recently seen on the Ohrstrom-Bryant stage during the 2009 Season of Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre where he was in the ensemble of Hairspray, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast. His favorite roles have been Bernardo in West Side Story, Peter in BARE, and Georg in The First National Tour of Spring Awakening. James would like to thank his friends and family for their constant enthusiasm!

JEREMY TRAMMELLE (Ensemble):
is super excited to be back on the WOB stage!  You may remember him from his last role as sweet, yet neurotic, Leo Bloom in The Producers. He has also appeared in The Wedding Singer, Evita, and Thoroughly Modern Millie at WOB. He would like to thank Susan, Amanda, and Jordan for this opportunity, as well as the Kiska family, and his family and friends. Much love!

ZANE L. OBERHOLZER, JR. (Ensemble):
has done many, many shows over the years and is extremely excited to be a part of The Full Monty!  He previously appeared at WOB in Evita and The Producers (Franz).

DAVID YAZBEK (Music and Lyrics):
is a recording artist whose album The Laughing Man won the 1997 NAIRD Award for Best Pop Album. Other albums include TOCK and Damascus. He won the Drama Desk Award for his work in The Full Monty. For theatre he has composed original music for Boy's Life at LCT; Mojo, Atlantic Theatre; and The Pope's Nose, Promenade Theatre. David has done a lot of scriptwriting for TV, including a brief, Emmy Award-winning stint with Late Night with David Letterman and the co-creation of the groundbreaking yet cloying Puzzle Place for PBS. As a songwriter and/or producer he has worked with such artists as XTC, Tito Puente, Space Hog, The Verve Pipe, Ruben Blades, Rockapella, and the Persuasions. His Broadway credits also include the music and lyrics for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

TERRENCE McNALLY (Book): is the recipient of four Tony Awards: Love! Valour! Compassion!, Master Class, Ragtime, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Plays include Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune; Lips Together, Teeth Apart; The Lisbon Traviata; Corpus Christi; The Ritz; Some Men; A Perfect Ganesh; It's Only a Play; Bad Habits; and Deuce. Books for musicals include The Full Monty and Kiss of the Spider Woman. He won the Emmy Award for Andre’s Mother.

SUSAN THORNTON (Director): has performed and directed in the tri-state area for over 30 years, and is the founder and director of Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre. When not at WOB, she teaches at Dance Unlimited and directs at Middletown High School.

AMANDA PATTEN (Choreographer): has enjoyed choreographing and performing throughout the area for the many years. Here at WOB, she has choreographed productions of The Goodbye Girl - The Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Evita, and Cats. Amanda has also performed on WOB's Mainstage and Children's Theatre as well as at Toby's Dinner Theatre (Columbia and Baltimore). Favorite onstage appearances include Hello, Dolly! (Dolly), Guys & Dolls (Adelaide), Grease (Patty), and Disney's Aida. In addition to choreographing and performing, she is a dance instructor at Dance Unlimited here in Frederick.

WAY OFF BROADWAY (Producer): The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has been a leader in the region's performing arts community since it first opened in 1995. Under the direction of the Kiska Family since 2002, WOB has produced such productions as . . . Forum, The King & I, Bye Bye, Birdie, Annie, Guys & Dolls, Steel Magnolias, Oklahoma!, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, The Odd Couple, A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Evita, and Cats, as well as the regional and area premieres of Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl - The Musical, Jerry Herman's La Cage aux Folles, and the musical comedy The Wedding Singer. Following The Full Monty, Way Off Broadway is proud to bring All Shook Up, Nunsense A-Men!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Christmas Follies: The North Pole Revue to the stage for the 2010 Season.
