KING ARTHUR

The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Roundtable and find the Holy Grail. Funny and good humored.

SIR ROBIN
Male | Age: 30s-40s | Vocal: Baritone
A Knight of the Roundtable. Ironically called 'Sir Robin the Brave,' though he couldn't be more cowardly. Joins the Knights for the singing and dancing.

SIR LANCELOT
Male | Age: 30s | Vocal: Baritone

A Knight of the Roundtable. He is fearless to a bloody fault but through a twist of fate, does discover his 'softer side.'

PATSY
Male | Age: 20s-30s | Vocal: Baritone

King Arthur's horse and servant. Underappreciated but always longing for King Arthur's approval. Good, funny, physical mover.

SIR GALAHAD
Male | Age: 30s | Vocal: Tenor

A Knight of the Roundtable. Begins as Dennis, a lower class 'mud gatherer' who becomes Knighted and transforms into the dashing Sir Galahad.

SIR BEDEVERE
Male | Age: 20s-30s | Vocal: Baritone

A Knight of the Roundtable. An inept scholar.

NOTE: Character voices and accents are a plus as the knights double for other parts.

LADY OF THE LAKE
Female | Age: 20s-40s | Vocal: Alto

A Diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. Great singing voice is essential, as she must be able to sing effortlessly in many styles and vocal registers.

hose auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing, read from the script, and dance.  All roles are open and non-union paying.  Those auditioning must be 18 or older.  Auditions are an open call, no appointments are necessary and an accompanist is provided.      

SHOW INFORMATION:
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.  Throughout the show, Arthur, traveling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad.  On their way, they meet the Lady of the Lake, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
Rehearsals will begin shortly after auditions and be held 2 - 3 times a week (Sunday afternoon/evening - Thursday evening).  Beginning Sunday, July 17, rehearsals will be every evening.

Way Off Broadway's production will run from July 22 - September 17, 2016, with performances every Friday and Saturday evening and matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month.  For exact show dates, visit WOB's PERFORMANCE CALENDAR.
