THE BAKER

A harried and insecure baker who is simple and loving, yet protective of his family. He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness.

THE BAKER'S WIFE

Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple, yet satisfying life and is very
low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors.

CINDERELLA

A young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.

THE WITCH

Sarcastic, ugly-then-gorgeous, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-witted, fearless, yet youthful and naive.

JACK

The feckless Giant killer who is 'almost a man.' He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed.

Browbeating and weary, Jack's protective mother who is independent, bold, and strong-willed.

NARRATOR/MYSTERIOUS MAN

An intellectual and pleasant story-teller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience.

AUDITION INFORMATION

INTO THE WOODS
Date: MONDAY, AUGUST 1, 2016
Time:
Beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Location: The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre

Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as 16 bars of prepared music and be ready to sing and read from the script.  All roles are open and non-union paying.  Those auditioning should be at least 18 years old.  No appointments are necessary and an accompanist will be provided.

The production runs October 7th through November 12th.  Performances are every Friday and Saturday evening, with matinees on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month.

Rehearsals will begin shortly after auditions and be held two to three times a week (Sunday through Thursday evenings).  Beginning Sunday, October 2nd, rehearsal will be every day.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Everyone’s favorite classic storybook characters come together in one enchanting modern musical.  The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King's Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk.  When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and run into Little Red Riding Hood, dashing princes, a maiden trapped in a tower, and a mysterious man along the way.  Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them all with disastrous results.
