LEND ME A TENOR
January 18 - April 5, 2008

Chaos reigns offstage and on in this Tony Award-winning comedy. The Cleveland Opera Company has hired the world-famous tenor Tito Merelli to open their season with a performance of Verdi’s Otello. Shortly before the curtain goes up, Tito is discovered passed out cold from taking too many tranquilizers. The company manager scrambles to make sure the show, as always, goes on. But who will perform? Will the audience notice? This proven crowd-pleasing farce fills the theatre with mistaken identities, romantic intrigue, a cascade of slamming doors, and enough laughter to have you “singing” its praises.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC
April 18 - June 29, 2008

The final collaboration between Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical and this summer, the von Trapp family returns to WOB. In this heartwarming story, when a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern Captain, leading to one of the most inspirational and endearing musical theatre endings of all time.

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE
September 5 - November 8, 2008

Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp that took Broadway by storm! Taking place in New York City in 1922, Millie tells the story of Millie Dillmount, who just moved to the city in search of a new life. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, this show is filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men, and a dragon-lady of a villainess. It’s one that will leave you dancing in the aisles.
